Windows Update Errors - Solved

Given the critical severity of unpatched vulnerabilities, one would think Microsoft would leave no stone unturned in ensuring every Windows user had reliable, easy access to Microsoft security patches. But just Google "Windows update errors" and you'll find there's no shortage of users frustrated by their inability to access Windows updates. One of the most ubiquitous error conditions is error number 0x8024402C. The error is so common, there are dozens of websites devoted to troubleshooting the issue, with little success.

Fortunately, there is an easy way to resolve these common Microsoft update errors. Use the free WindizUpdate service from a non-Microsoft browser. Supported browsers include Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla Firebird, Opera, and K-Meleon. Not only does WindizUpdate work extremely well, it also works extremely fast - much faster than accessing Microsoft updates directly. In fact, in the ten minutes it takes for Microsoft updates to finish "Checking for the latest updates for your computer...", WindizUpdate can have your entire system patched.
As Martha would say, it's a good thing.
